Eligibility Requirements
The Summer Youth Works! Program is made possible by funding from the following sources:
- The American Recovery and Re-investment Act (Stimulus)
- Workforce Investment Act
- City of Columbus
- TANF
To participate in the Summer Youth Works! Program, you must meet certain eligibility requirements. To determine this eligibility, we will need information regarding household income levels, ethnicity, race, education, military participation and more.
STOP! BEFORE YOU GO ANY FURTHER, PLEASE CLICK INCOME GUIDELINES AND VERIFY THAT YOUR HOUSEHOLD INCOME MEETS THE PROGRAM PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS. NOT VERFYING YOUR HOUSEHOLD INCOME MAY DISQUALIFY YOU.
Information You Will Need to Continue with Application
To continue you will need the following:
- An e-mail address - If you do not have an email account there are free email accounts available such as Gmail by Google. https://www.google.com/accounts/Login.
- Your social security number - If you need assistance in obtaining a Social Security number here is a link to information http://www.ssa.gov/ssnumber.
- Your selective service registration number (only if you are a male 18 years or older). For information on how to register for Selective Service visit the following link. http://www.sss.gov/regist.htm.
Before you begin please click here for Eligibility Application Instructions. We recommend that you review the instructions carefully before starting the application and that you keep them open for
easy reference while you complete the application.
STOP! All returning participants from last year’s 2008 Summer Youth Works! Program will need to first email their full name and the name of your 2009 assigned Service Provider to
help@proteamstaffing.com to obtain a username and password. Once you receive your username and password back from Proteam, click "Update your COWIC/JOBLeaders Eligibility Application" link below, enter your username and password and complete the application.
For new participants to the 2009 Summer Youth Works! Program please click on the "Begin Your COWIC Eligibility Application" link below and complete the application.
You will have approximately twenty (20) minutes to complete the Eligibility Application. If you do not complete your application during your initial visit you can log back on and complete your application by clicking on the “Update your COWIC/JOBLeaders Eligibility Application” link below and entering your username and password.
